Star Spangled Banner Free SMART Resources

Star Spangled Banner Free SMART Resources

Star Spangled Banner Free SMART Resources. In my opinion, there can never be too many resources for teaching the Star Spangled Banner Unit. What works one year with one class of students sometimes just doesn’t feel right with the next group. I’ve put together and updated the Star Spangled Banner Free SMART Resources. It is a collection of SMARTNotebook pages filled with activities and useful links for the next time you teach the National Anthem. There are many options for your lessons and enough material to cover several class times. Here is what this updated file includes:

Star Spangled Banner Free SMART Resources

  • Verse one text
  • Verse one illustrated text
  • Underwater Match Up: a SMART Lab assessment game
  • A Flag Trivia file with Hot Spot facts and a fun jokes
  • A Speed Race Quiz using a SMART Lab activity.
  • Memory Challenge: Links to access a PDF to aid in memorizing the Star Spangled Banner
  • Who’s the best? A comparison of National Anthem singers
  • The story of Francis Scott Key and what inspired him.
  • Links to a sing-a-long demo, and accompaniment file
  • Link to hear the original song that came before our National Anthem
  • Link to a mini booklet activity from the craftyclassroom.com
  • Links to seven different additional resources and lessons.

  1. I am following your blog via email. Is there another way to follow it? When I click on the free Star Spangled Banner file–I get a message saying that I am not allowed to download it because I am not following your blog. It LOOKS WONDERFUL!!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your willingness to share it.

  2. Hi Debbie, I just changed permission settings and everyone should be able to access and download the files. I’m sorry…. I didn’t know what I was doing behind the scenes. haha! I hope you can use the free resources and have the technology to use the SMART STAR QUEST. Let me know how it goes!!
Thanks for stopping by! – Cherie

  3. It worked!!!! Again–thank you SO MUCH for giving so generously!!! I can’t wait to look at this file! It sounds like it is AWESOME!!!!

  4. This looks like so much fun! I’m out in a mobile with an old projector, my laptop and a screen. Is there any other way to use your files without a smart board?

  5. Could you please send me the PDF file also? I am unable to open the downloaded file. Thanks!

  6. Cheri,
I just download your Star Spangled Banner 2017 resources and have the same problem as Jen Claytor, no smart board. Would it be possible for you to email me a pdf of the resources so I can project and use with my students? Thanks so much in advance and for sharing your talents with so many.

  7. Just a FYI: SMARTNotebook is currently on sale for $99 until Sept. 30. It is well worth the money–it is an excellent program. Cherie’s files are fantastic. It is amazing what she does with SMARTNotebook!!! I am a sub so the district I work for will not supply me with the program. I have been watching and hoping it would go on sale!!! I am purchasing this with my own money–it is THAT good. http://go.smarttech.com/

(Note: there USED to be a program called Smart Express…where you could open files but not make changes–Cherie, did they stop making that software available?)

  8. I love the resources for the Star-Spangled Banner unit. I’m getting ready to start that unit and would love to have some of these resources. I downloaded the file but it won’t open probably because I don’t have a smartboard where I’m teaching music. Is there another way to get these resources? Thank you for your site and your time sharing these great lessons and resources.

  9. Currently I’m having to use a projector and computer. I think they have put PowerPoint on my computer. Thank you for your reply.
